I married into real estate... but it was already in my genes.

My husband's father was a builder in northern Louisiana. He built his first single-family home in 1968. His eldest son (my brother-in-law) now runs the family business that my father-in-law started and my other brother-in-law was a REALTOR® in Texas. I inherited my love of DIY projects from my father. In his spare time, he watched  "This Old House" to enhance his knowledge and proficiency on all types of woodworking and construction tools that he had set up in his weekend shop in our basement. I remember coming home from college one summer and discovered that he had designed, cut and installed custom hardwood floors in our home. My first cousin is a seasoned real estate investor with an impressive investment portfolio and he has mentored me in my real estate investments over the years. He says he learned everything from our grandfather who had purchased and sold multiple properties.

My values remain consistent. 

For as long as I can remember, I have always had the same core values: Passion, Integrity and Excellence.

In summary, Passion is being true to oneself and not pursuing things just because everyone else is. Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching and it means acting in your client's best interest even if it means letting go of an opportunity -- all money is not good money. Last but not least, Excellence is always striving to anticipate needs and exceed expectations that might have changed. These three values coupled with my faith make me the person that I am.

Real estate is a lot like playing golf. 

If you've ever played golf before, then you know that no two courses are the same and a variety of factors can impact the flight trajectory of your golf ball. If you head out to play a round of golf without any guidance you might end up in the rough or in a bunker. A coach can show you how to swing your club so that you hit the ball in the sweet spot and improve your chances of getting a birdie and perhaps even a hole in one! Buying and selling real estate is very similar. Location, condition and market fluctuations can all impact the sales price and days on market when you're buying, selling or investing in real estate. This is just the beginning.  

Founding and opening my own brokerage is just one of the goals that I have envisioned. I love all aspects of real estate, especially the home construction process which is why I enjoy volunteering with Habitat for Humanity.
